Created by renowned designer Paavo Tynell, the suspension 1972 features a tapered bamboo shade produced by master craftsmen. Bamboo slats are sewn together to form a pleated surface, which is then hand-sewn onto a linen lining and secured to a wire frame. The light is directed downwards, creating a diffused glow around the shade, and upwards through the bamboo slats. The brass details add a touch of timelessness and complement the warm tone of the wood and light perfectly. Under the bulb, a fabric diffuser modulates the light. Edited by Gubi, the suspension A1972 is height-adjustable thanks to an ingenious mechanism devised by Tynell.
