Created by the famous designer Paavo Tynell, the 1972 suspension lamp features a conical shade made from bamboo by master craftsmen. Bamboo slats are sewn together to form a pleated surface, which is then hand-sewn onto a linen lining and secured to a wire frame. The light is directed downwards, creating a diffused glow around the shade, and upwards through the bamboo slats. The brass detailing on the Gubi 1972 Suspension adds a touch of timelessness and perfectly complements the warm tone of the wood and light. Under the bulb, a fabric diffuser modulates the light.
