Designed by Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee of the architectural firm Johnston Marklee for Knoll, the Biboni armchair is one of those pieces that transport into domestic space the spatial intelligence specific to architecture. His voluminous silhouette and generous curves are not the result of a formal caprice but of a deep reflection on the relationship between the human body and the space that surrounds it, translating into volumes, hollows and curves this same sensitivity that characterizes the duo’s built projects. In its Solid Sublime Navy finish, it deploys an assertive and serene chromatic presence, this deep and sovereign blue that gives the scalloped silhouette all its density, revealing with particular sharpness the subtle play of shadows and lights that animate its folds throughout the day. Its precisely placed volutes envelop the body with remarkable softness and support, maintaining a relaxed and abandoned posture that naturally invites you to linger. Its discreet feet set back from the ground visually lighten a room whose sculptural presence is nevertheless undeniable, giving it that paradoxical lightness which is perhaps its most surprising quality. Particularly striking seen from all angles, it reveals itself fully when it floats freely in space, far from the walls, assuming without complex its status as a centerpiece. It can be combined with the Ottoman Biboni, sold separately, to create a relaxing space of absolute coherence.
