Description
The D70 was presented as the "patented sofa bed" for the first time at the X Triennial Furniture Fair in 1954, emblematically establishing the new path of the young Tecno. The mechanical seal placed prominently underlines, as if it were an expression of design, Osvaldo Borsani's desire to design and produce original furnishing elements that are autonomous and elegant in form, technological and industrial in production. The main mechanism is held in a lever with a locking tooth which is inserted into a graduated plate, easily adjustable by means of a handle, which makes it possible to tilt the backrest relative to the seat until it forms a bed. The structure thus designed is not only beautiful for the harmony of form and position, it is also extremely convenient for the adaptability of the soft parts to the person. Published by Tecno, the D70 has thus become an iconic object offered for the home but also in performance or reception spaces.
