Description

Designed by Danish architect and designer Illum Wikkelsø in 1962, the Croissant collection is an elegant and playful take on the traditional Chesterfield sofas and armchairs. For Wikkelsø, a chair should not just be used for sitting upright, but should also be comfortable in any position. So he revisited these classic pieces for a more relaxed audience emerging in the optimism of the 60s. With its characteristic, gourmet Viennese pastry shape, the Croissant sofa stands out with a certain sense of humour in any interior. It brings its own personality to your living room, but can also be combined with other furniture with a strong character. Gubi reissues this magnificent piece and pays homage to the original design, respecting its sculptural and theatrical presence, organic curves and artisanal craftsmanship.
