Cab 410 embodies a new standard in leather furniture design, often imitated but never equalled. Created in the 70s, Cab has become an iconic piece in the "I Contemporanei" (the Contemporaries) collection. The
Cab collection is pioneering as the first chair in the world to feature a self-supporting leather structure, inspired by the relationship between the skeleton and the skin. Its covering is made up of 16 pieces of leather, shaped in 14 manual operations. These cut parts are meticulously assembled after a bevelling process designed to reduce the thickness of the areas to be joined. Next, the lining is delicately fitted over a steel frame, closed with zips, reminiscent of the finish of a tailor's dress. Today, the
Cab collection Cassina by
Mario Bellini evolves to meet contemporary needs, while retaining the same quality of leatherwork.
