Description

With Moon, design studio Space Copenhagen has created for Gubi a collection of organically shaped tables designed for both domestic and public spaces. The magnificent marble table-top is fixed on a half-moon or full-moon shaped base with a bevelled surface, serving as both structure and ornament. The interaction between these two elements gives the Moon table a simple yet strong design identity. The result is an elegant table with clear references to traditional Danish carpentry, where homage is paid to the marriage between design and craftsmanship.

SPACE COPENHAGEN

Space Copenhagen is a Danish multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2005 by Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou. They work at the crossroads of disciplines, from furniture and lighting to art installations, interior design for private homes, hotels and restaurants around the world, and art direction. Their ambition is to blaze new trails by balancing opposites: classic and modern, industrial and organic, light and shade, duality and contrast. They call their approach Poetic Modernism. The principles of functionality, slow design and the study of human behaviour guide their work. The result is quality and longevity. Their various collaborations with Fredericia, AndTradition, Gubi and Mater demonstrate their ability to break with codes and constantly renew themselves. The Swoon armchair is one of their iconic creations. The use of soft colours and natural materials such as wood, stone, leather and brass develop a patina over time and lend a certain charm to objects.

Founded in 1967 in Denmark, Gubi is an iconic design brand known for its visionary approach blending Scandinavian heritage and modernity. Installed in former docks of Copenhagen, the company reprints cult pieces while collaborating with renowned contemporary designers. His goal: to create timeless, bold and deeply elegant furniture.
