Icon of Danish design, the Flag Halyard armchair by PP Møbler, designed by Hans J. Wegner, is distinguished by a unique construction that combines structural rigor and enveloping comfort. Designed in 1950, it embodies an experimental approach to design, where industrial materials and artisanal know-how dialogue with accuracy. Its stainless steel structure forms a light and airy silhouette, contrasting with the seat composed of stretched ropes that naturally fit the body. This braiding, both flexible and resistant, offers remarkable comfort, complemented by a sheepskin and a leather cushion, which reinforce the feeling of relaxation. Designed as a rest chair, the Flag Halyard offers an ideal inclined position for relaxation, while maintaining great precision in its proportions. The combination of materials such as metal, rope, leather and skin gives the whole a raw yet sophisticated aesthetic, characteristic of Wegner’s work. Made with high standards by PP Møbler, each element demonstrates exceptional know-how, combining traditional techniques and high quality materials. The armchair is available with different finishes of structure, string and leather, allowing a customization adapted to each interior. With its singular presence and enveloping comfort, the Flag Halyard armchair naturally finds its place in a living room, a relaxation area or a reading corner, where it becomes a central piece that is both functional and expressive.
