The Coupe bar stool began life as a naïve sketch: a single vertical line met by three horizontals, inspired by the pared-back silhouettes of classic cocktail glasses and champagne coupes. Designed by John Astbury for New Works, it embraces unapologetically simple forms while holding on to a distinct character.
Its identity rests on a strong materiality and a clarity of form that give the Coupe bar stool a real presence in any room. For all its solid feel and volume, precise proportions and balanced geometry lend it a genuine lightness of touch.
Offered in two heights, in black carbon steel or sandblasted, passivated stainless steel, this bar stool settles into a balanced, classic silhouette. Also available as a low stool, the Coupe bar stool by New Works needs nothing more than a soft dry or damp cloth to keep it looking its best.
