NEW WORKS
New Works was founded by Nikolaj Meier and Knut Bendik Humlevik with the desire to create a design house where design comes to life with care and intention, and where there is space for creative experimentation—a place for new works. NEW WORKS
New Works was founded by Nikolaj Meier and Knut Bendik Humlevik with the desire to create a design house where design comes to life with c ...are and intention, and where there is space for creative experimentation—a place for new works. With a small, dedicated team, they set out to curate a collection of elevated yet accessible living objects. Through this lens, they shape the ever-evolving story of New Works. New Works offers a collection positioned at the intersection of old and new. Light and dark. Design and art. The brand’s work pays homage to Scandinavia's strong history of craftsmanship and materiality while challenging today’s contemporary forms. New Works collaborates with a global group of renowned designers and artists who share a fascination with sculptural forms and honest materials. These collaborative efforts convey a love for the sensual and the bold. The core values of New Works lie in respecting the natural qualities of materials as both a source of inspiration and a guide in creating the collection. Honoring the unique attributes that each material brings—from the strength of marble to the warmth of oak—is paramount.
To best represent the materials and techniques used in crafting unique objects, it is essential to retain their original rawness, the true character that comes from within. New Works merges traditional craftsmanship with diverse techniques from around the world, allowing their pieces to push the boundaries of material and form. They challenge perceptions of craftsmanship while preserving the artisan's touch in every final object. This is the design philosophy of New Works. The entire New Works collection is available at SILVERA. If you cannot find the desired product, please contact us through the form.
