Signed Rodolfo Dordoni, the Roger sofa was developed in conjunction with Minotti, a collaboration that is reflected in the softness of the volumes, the refinement of the upholstery and the excellence of the workmanship.
The elements of the Roger sofa can be freely designed: with high or low backrests, different types of armrests, it offers the possibility of inserting support or storage elements, projecting from the back or at the end next to the seat. This system - or rather this super-system - allows an exponential number of interpretations and configurations.
The Roger sofa features two Black Coffee painted aluminium cross slats making the fulcrum virtually disappear while raising it 13cm above the floor, giving the seats an airy feel. A guarantee of the prestige and softness of the surfaces, Minotti's couture expertise can be seen in the graphic upholstery drawing long horizontal lines throughout the backrests, fixed seat elements and bench seats completing Roger.
Rodolfo Dordoni is a major figure in Italian design. After graduating in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1979, he set up Dordoni Architects Studio and went on to work with major furniture brands such as Foscarini, Cappellini and Artemide, where he was artistic director, as well as Flos, Moroso, Cassina and, more recently, Coédition. He has also worked closely with Minotti since 1997. Its timeless, modern designs combine aesthetics and comfort. The lines are sober, minimalist and extremely distinctive. The roots of the collaboration between Minotti and Rodolfo Dordoni are long-standing and solid, because the same values are shared by the company and the designer. The designer's inspirations and thoughts come to life, and particular attention is paid to the details, finishes and materials that reveal the unique character of Minotti collections.
