Description
The Bottoni sofa, imagined by designer Marcel Wanders for the Dutch brand Moooi, is an iconic piece that blends simplicity with originality. With its clean design and cubical silhouette, it embodies the perfect balance between functionality and contemporary aesthetics. This sofa stands out for its simple geometric shapes, enhanced by decorative buttons (hence its name "Bottoni", meaning "buttons" in Italian) that accent the backrest and seats. These add a touch of character while evoking subtle sophistication. The base, available in wood or metal depending on the version, remains minimal to highlight the purity of the lines. Available in various sizes (2- or 3-seater), fabrics, and colors, the Bottoni fits just as well in a classic interior as in a bolder space. It can also be customized with exclusive printed fabrics or graphic patterns designed by Moooi. Comfortable and sophisticated, the Bottoni sofa embodies Moooi’s vision: offering furniture with a strong personality, blending art and design.

Marcel WANDERS
Born in the Netherlands in 1963, Marcel Wanders obtained his art degree from the Arnhem School of Art in 1988. He worked for two years in one of the leading Dutch design studios, and in 1992 became one of the four partners of WAAC's Design&Consultancies, rapidly becoming one of the most recognised studios in the Netherlands. Marcel Wanders founded Moooi in 2001 with Casper Vissers, whose designs are renowned for their originality and fun. The company has grown and collaborated with well-known designers such as Maarten Baas, Ross Lovegrove and Studio Job. The brand's creations can be found in many museums around the world, including MoMA in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Marcel Wanders creates furniture and decorative objects for some of the world's leading brands, including B&B Italia, Cappellini, Poliform, Magis (Cyborg armchair) and Baccarat, with its exceptional decanters and candleholders. Marcel Wanders is also called upon for architectural and interior design projects such as the Mondrian South Beach Hotel in Miami, and his collaboration with the Hyatt Hotels Corporation. Among his many awards, he received the prestigious Design Excellence Award for his significant contribution to the field of design in 2009.

MOOOI
Marcel Wanders became known within the renowned group of designers, Droog Design. In 2001, he founded the company Moooi, which means "beautiful" in Dutch. The Moooi collection features fanciful and offbeat style, which is sometimes even provocative, and as such produces extraordinary, head-turning pieces. From the Little Bold candlestick to the Chess coffee table, the avant-garde design surprises and the industrial objects fuse reverie with the unusual. Marcel Wanders also collaborates with internationally-renowned designers such as Ross Lovegrove, Studio Job and Ron Gilad.
