Description
The timeless BL7 wall light was designed in 1930 by Robert Dudley Best, a British designer strongly influenced by the Bauhaus school. The design of the Bestlite lamp was first adopted by Royal Air Force garages and technical services because of its great functionality. Public demand for Bestlite lamps soon followed and, when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his office, Bestlite's iconic status was achieved. This contemporary classic is now part of the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. In continuous production since its inception, the Bestlite BL7 wall lamp remains true to its industrial roots and original design. With its adjustable shade, the wall light edited by Gubi is perfect for the corridor, near the desk, as a bedside lamp or in the kitchen where light needs to be directed.
