Description

The iconic Bestlite BL4 edited Gubi floor lamp, designed by Robert Dudley Best in 1930, was first adopted by Royal Air Force garages and engineering departments because of its high functionality and adjustable arm. Public demand for Bestlite lamps soon followed and, when Winston Churchill personally chose the Bestlite BL1 table lamp for his office, the iconic status of Bestlite was achieved. This contemporary classic is now part of the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London. The Bestlite design remains close to its industrial roots and true to its original design. With its many finishes, the lamp BL4 by Gubi is perfectly suited as a reading lamp in any contemporary home where extra character is desired.
