Rug FARFALLE E LOSANGHE CC-TAPIS

The result of a collaboration between CC-Tapis and Fornasetti, the Farfalle e Losanghe carpet combines visual poetry and graphic composition in a creation with strong decorative power. The colorful butterflies seem to float above a black and white geometric diamond pattern, creating a striking contrast between organic lightness and graphic rigor. Present since the 1950s in Fornasetti’s decorative universe, these two emblematic motifs are here brought together for the first time by Barnaba Fornasetti in an almost hypnotic composition, evoking the delicate aesthetics of an entomologist’s collection. Entirely handcrafted in India, the Farfalle e Losanghe carpet is made of wool using the traditional dhurrie technique. Woven on a horizontal loom, it has a flat and graphic surface obtained thanks to the manual interlacing of colored wefts in the warp. Hand embroidery then highlights the butterflies as an additional layer, giving them the impression of being delicately placed on the geometric background. This craftsmanship accentuates the sensation of movement and depth while highlighting the know-how of CC-Mats and the unique universe of Fornasetti. Designed as both a carpet and wall hanging, the Farfalle e Losanghe is a true collector’s item, where craftsmanship, art and storytelling meet with elegance.
