Rug BOCCA CC-TAPIS

The result of a collaboration between CC-Tapis and Fornasetti, the Bocca carpet transforms Lina Cavalieri’s iconic lip pattern into an expressive and contemporary textile piece. Reinterpreted by Barnaba Fornasetti, this iconic symbol leaves its original black and white aesthetic thanks to the addition of a bright intense red, asserting a strong and immediately recognizable graphic presence. Entirely handcrafted in India, the Bocca rug is made of wool using the traditional dhurrie technique. Woven on a horizontal loom, it reveals a flat and graphic surface where the colored frames are manually intertwined to create a precise and contrasting drawing, faithful to the singular visual universe of Fornasetti. Hand embroidery then highlights the lips in relief, bringing a tactile and almost sculptural dimension to the whole. This meticulous work enhances the visual impact of the pattern while highlighting the craftsmanship carried by CC-Mats. Designed as both a carpet and wall hanging, the Bocca is a true collector’s item. Between art, design and craftsmanship, it brings a bold and iconic touch to any space.
