Born in 1981 in Germany, Sebastian Herkner graduated in 2007 from the University of Arts and Design in Offenbach, where he specialized in product design.
In 2006, he founded his own studio in Offenbach, dedicating himself to creating objects and furniture that combine innovation with aesthetic sensitivity. His internship at Stella McCartney during his studies profoundly influenced his approach to design, sharpening his understanding of colors, materials, and textures.
These influences are reflected in his work, where he places particular emphasis on function, materials, and detail, while developing a strong identity and distinctive sensibility.
In addition to his furniture creations, Sebastian Herkner is also active in interior architecture and exhibition design for museums, demonstrating a versatility that enriches his career.
His collaborations with renowned brands such as ClassiCon (for the iconic Bell Table), Moroso, Pulpo, Cappellini, Gubi, And Tradition, La Chance, Zanotta, and Thonet highlight his unique talent for blending traditional craftsmanship with modern technologies.
This balance between ancestral know-how and contemporary innovation lies at the heart of his work, which seeks to create visual and functional harmony. Curious about different cultures, Herkner integrates this diversity into his creations, enriching his projects with varied nuances and perspectives.
His passion for craftsmanship and technology has earned him numerous awards, and in 2019 he was named “Designer of the Year” at Maison & Objet, recognizing his growing influence in the world of design.
