Edited by cc-tapis, the Rude collection by Faye Toogood is sensual and sculptural. It embodies high-level craftsmanship. Irregular shapes and radical textures reveal the playfulness and provocative colours of the collection, which was inspired by the paintings of Francis Bacon. Each rug in the Rude collection features works of art and a main character with an intriguing title such as "Blue Tit", "Tongue and cheek" or "Poking fun". The idea behind this collection is to redefine the objectivity of a carpet. The rugs can be displayed on the wall like a work of art. Designed by Faye Toogood, the Rude collection of cc-tapis offers several rugs each as unique as the next allowing everyone to find something to their liking.
CC-Tapis is an Italian company that manufactures hand-woven contemporary rugs created in Nepal by Tibetan master craftsmen. In 2011, CC-Tapis moved to Milan, where the company is now based. Its artistic director and partner, Daniele Lora, leads a team of designers there that innovate through a new approach to traditional methods. Weighty respect for the materials and culture of the ancestral profession is reflected in CC-Tapis’s environmentally-friendly approach at every stage of production, from spinning the softest Himalayan wool to using purified rainwater. Patricia Urquiola designed the "Visioni" collection for CC-Tapis: a 2-piece series featuring geometric shapes and soft colours.
