Description

The rust color is perhaps the one that most clearly reveals the cultural and sensitive depth of the Onigiri collection imagined by Studiopepe for Tacchini: this earthy and warm shade, somewhere between burnt ochre and dark red, carries within her a memory of natural materials, terracotta, patinated metal, ancient pigments that resonate directly with the Japanese inspiration of the collection and its reflection on the sign as a gesture full of meaning. The graphic pattern of the onigiri, this rice triangle surrounded by a band of nori whose precise and measured line structures the surface of the carpet with the sobriety of an ideogram, takes on a new intensity in rust: the shape becomes more present, more assertive, capable of becoming the focal point of an inner composition around which everything else is organized. Woven in pure natural wool, the rusty Onigiri rug introduces into a space this rare chromatic warmth that instantly warms up a room without resorting to artifice a color that lives, that evolves according to daylight and time, ranging from amber brown under a grazing light to deep orange under zenith lighting. It dialogues with natural ease alongside noble materials in complementary tones, brushed brass, walnut wood, natural leather, beige stone and stands out as the character element of a contemporary living room that embraces its choices, of a hotel room that seeks to break away from the marked paths of conventional luxury, or from any space where color is considered not as decoration but as sensitive architecture. Available in three sizes, it settles with the same conviction in a large open space as in a more intimate corner, carrying everywhere this rare quality of truly inhabited objects: a presence that warms even before one knows why.

STUDIOPEPE

For Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto, the ultra-creative duo behind the Studiopepe agency, it all began in 2006 on the benches of Milan's prestigious Politecnico. This city, which sets the tempo for the whole of Italy, soon smiled on the two brilliant graduates. In the space of ten years, their multidisciplinary vision, inherited from the richness of their respective studies - interior architecture in the case of one, industrial design in the case of the other - has hit the mark. Styling advice for magazine pages, set designs, boutique makeovers and, more recently, interior design, Studiopepe has proved one thing: its ability to get people talking. Their philosophy is based on a conceptual approach inspired by the unexpected, and on extensive iconographic and visionary experience, generating unique results.Their attention to detail, and the emotion they can generate in people, is fundamental to their projects. The initial brief was very clear: to bring together furniture and family heirlooms with contemporary pieces. With colour, Studiopepe unfurls an elegant and warm imagination. One impressive piece follows another, dusted off by a tasteful blend of luxurious materials (brass, marble, velvet), rare and reissued creations (including those by Gio Ponti and Angelo Mangiarotti) and vintage items.

TACCHINI

Tacchini is an Italian designer furniture brand created in 1967 by Antonio Tacchini, at a time when Italian design was disrupting global design. It went on to become the leading institution in terms of quality and creativity. The strength of its concept is found at every step of Tacchini Italia's creative process. The brand goes so far as to explain this in their own words: "from the abstraction of thought to the three-dimensional nature of the object, to embody the essence of the home." A family business passed down the generations, Tacchini Italia is constantly progressing; it ensures ties with contemporary style, enhanced by the choice of high-quality materials and ever-improving technologies.
