Designed by Danish architect Eva Harlou for the Mater brand, the tabouret haut Earth is the result of an innovative new waste recovery technique, enabling Mater to reuse companies' industrial waste from plastics and other fibre-based materials.
The seat is made from coffee waste from coffee producer BKI, mixed with GROHE industrial plastic waste. The technique was developed in collaboration with the Danish Technological Institute and with the support of the University of Copenhagen. The waste is mixed into a single composition suitable for press moulding. Earth perfectly represents classic Scandinavian design with a steel frame that makes the tall stool elegant and timeless.
Variations in finish are possible, due to the use of recycled materials.
