Description

Designed by Tom Dixon, Spring is a series of three suspensions made from high-performance stainless steel blades. Each flexible stainless steel ribbon is arranged like a whip around the dimmable, bespoke Tom Dixon LED disc. The semi-transparent shape thus created can be adjusted into different silhouettes: in its flat form, Spring is reminiscent of a spirograph drawing, another configuration gives it the air of a flying saucer and its most voluminous form is similar to a pumpkin. Available in silver or brass, Spring by Tom Dixon can be used on its own or as a composition of several luminaires for a theatrical effect. When switched off, La suspension Spring is like an aerial sculpture, and when switched on, it creates graphic and different plays of light depending on the chosen configuration.

Tom DIXON

Tom Dixon is one of the most innovative designers of his generation, a true avant-gardist. Born in 1959 and of British origin, he spent many years as artistic director at Habitat, before setting up his own publishing house in 2002. His originality made him famous around the world for his futuristic designs, including the iconic S-Chair. Buckingham Palace awarded him the Order of the British Empire for services to design in 2001. Tom Dixon is passionate about working with materials and technical innovations. He loves working with raw materials and modernising and refining them for our interiors. This atypical designer is constantly reinventing himself with designs that are instantly recognisable, both technically and sculpturally. Among the most emblematic are the Beat, Melt, Copper and Void collections of lights, most often made from copper, brass, steel or blown glass. Voted Designer of the Year in 2014 at Maison & Objet in Paris, his work is on permanent display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, MoMa in New York and the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. Tom Dixon brings together collections of furniture, accessories and lighting, and is now represented in 90 countries, with hubs in London, Milan, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Tokyo and New York. In 2013 Tom Dixon also took a step into the world of fashion by collaborating with the famous sportswear brand Adidas.

Founded in 2002, Tom Dixon is a British producer of furniture, lighting and accessories designed by the creator of the same name. Dixon is one of the most talented creators of his generation. His meeting with Giulio Cappellini (founder of the Cappellini brand) represented a turning point in his life which resulted in the creation of the S Chair. Tom Dixon decided to set up his own brand and produces equally beautiful and refined lighting collections, made predominantly from copper and steel. Always at the cutting-edge of the latest technology, Tom Dixon also creates vases, candlesticks and other designer objects.
