Produced by Minotti, Sunray gives rise to a new layout for outdoor spaces, where creative design and carefully studied comfort contribute to creating an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. With its attractive shapes, the Sunray seating system stems from a desire to create spaces conducive to intimacy and relaxation that perfectly embody an outdoor lifestyle offering the same comfort and pleasure as indoor furniture solutions. Forms and materials are juxtaposed: the airy structure in natural teak emphasises the horizontality of the system, while the curved backrest in woven rope gives it a dynamic feel.
Consisting of individual products that can be combined with each other, the Sunray system allows for numerous composition solutions thanks to the versatility of its elements. The natural teak top with a sloping section rests on a shiny bronze-coloured metal structure: flared at the edges, it accommodates the quilted seat cushions. The backrest is distinguished by its tubular profile covered with flat rope in bronze and ecru colours, creating a linear weave.
Rodolfo Dordoni is a major figure in Italian design. After graduating in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1979, he set up Dordoni Architects Studio and went on to work with major furniture brands such as Foscarini, Cappellini and Artemide, where he was artistic director, as well as Flos, Moroso, Cassina and, more recently, Coédition. He has also worked closely with Minotti since 1997. Its timeless, modern designs combine aesthetics and comfort. The lines are sober, minimalist and extremely distinctive. The roots of the collaboration between Minotti and Rodolfo Dordoni are long-standing and solid, because the same values are shared by the company and the designer. The designer's inspirations and thoughts come to life, and particular attention is paid to the details, finishes and materials that reveal the unique character of Minotti collections.
