The SSD chair designed by TIPTOE is simple, solid, and durable. It is manufactured entirely in Europe using durable, resilient materials. The SSD assembles in just two minutes using a single screw! The SSD chair was born from an ambition that is both simple and committed: to design an ideal chair for everyday life while minimizing environmental impact at every stage of its lifecycle. This stackable chair is made of steel—the most recycled material in the world—and wood sourced 100% from sustainably managed European forests. It contains only 1% plastic, which is recycled. The TIPTOE SSD chair is delivered in packaging made from 80% recycled paper. This lightweight, durable chair is available in ash, oak, or walnut, with a frame offered in a variety of colors.

TIPTOE

The demand for Tiptoe products of impeccable quality is rooted in a family heritage spanning three generations of entrepreneurs. In 1947, Henri Bourgeaux, the grandfather of Matthieu Bourgeaux (the founder of Tiptoe), established a company near Chamonix in Haute-Savoie specializing in metal machining, particularly in a process known as "décolletage" (precision turning). The company was later taken over by Matthieu's father and uncle, and more recently by his brother. The family workshop remains one of Tiptoe's main partners, producing thousands of mechanical parts every year that make up the components of their various products.
