Description
What looks like an artfully folded textile is actually hand-blown glass. An elaborate artisanal production process obtains this soft visual effect, similar to a textile, realising Sebastian Herkner's vision. A variable intensity LED light source allows you to create the desired level of comfort. The design of thePlissée floor lamp by ClassiCon therefore combines traditional craftsmanship with an industrial component and, not least thanks to this combination, bears Sebastian Herkner's unique signature.

Sebastian HERKNER
Born in Germany in 1981, Sebastian Herkner studied Product Design at the University of Arts and Design in Offenbach, graduating in 2007. He founded his own eponymous studio in 2006, also in the same city, specialising in object and furniture design. Following an internship at Stella McCartney during his studies, he developed a real sensitivity to colours, materials and textures. "There is a sensibility and identity to my work that emphasises function, material and detail." Sebastian Herkner also works on interior architecture projects and museum exhibitions. His many collaborations testify to his talent, including ClassiCon with the famous Bell table, Moroso, Pulpo, Cappellini, Gubi, And Tradition, La Chance, Zanotta and Thonet. His curiosity for different cultures is reflected in his creations. He combines traditional craftsmanship with new technologies to achieve a certain balance. Winner of numerous awards, he has been named "Designer of the Year" by the Maison & Objet show in 2019.

CLASSICON
ClassiCon is a designer furniture brand who excels at producing yesterday's masterpieces and tomorrow's classics. The brand is focused on the quality and originality of its products and sells innovative and unique pieces. The entire collection is made by hand in Germany and is part of the art crafts industry. ClassiCon classics include Sebastian Herkner’s Bell Table series, and the Adjustable Table E 1027, whose original shape and ingenious dimensions led it to become a design icon, featured in the New York MoMA collection. ClassiCon focuses on quality and timeless aesthetics, reproducing the works of great designers such as Eileen Gray, and collaborating with the innovative designers of today.
