Designed in 1964 by architect and designer Tito Agnoli for Bonacina 1889, and reissued by Gubi, the P3 armchair combines sculptural elegance, a playful touch and ergonomic comfort. Crafted from hand-woven rattan strips secured to a tubular steel frame, the P3 armchair beautifully highlights the material’s natural warmth and texture. The P3 armchair embodies the elegance and clarity that defined the post-war renaissance of Italian design. Architect Tito Agnoli, known for his refined modernist sensibility and understanding of materials, worked closely with Bonacina 1889, the rattan specialists from Brianza, to explore the sculptural possibilities of hand-woven rattan. Now reissued by Gubi, the P3 armchair offers a light, upright seat, ideal for relaxed conversation, whilst the P3S chaise longue invites an almost horizontal repose – a graceful balance between geometry and softness. Together, they embody the sophistication of 1960s Italian modernism and the current enthusiasm for artisanal materials and seamless living between indoors and outdoors.
