India Mahdavi has designed Loop, a collection of chairs, lounge chairs and benches that has the charm of a freehand drawing and benefits from the ancestral craftsmanship of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna. The common thread running through the Loop collection materialises the structure in space and wraps around itself before continuing on its way, leaving two curved ‘loops’ in its wake. Its seductive loops push the boundaries of what is possible: India asks the wood to redouble its efforts to amplify its beauty and roundness. With its striking design and high-quality finishes, the Loop chair brings a sculptural touch to the dining room.

Gebrüder Thonet Vienna originates from a family of successful furniture makers during the industrial era. Michael Thonet, the founder, worked with wood and transitioned from laminated wood techniques to the use of steam-bent, round-sectioned wood. Formal elegance, durability, and lightness determined the success of Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, which, in just a few years, opened production sites worldwide. A unique production process rooted in a rich history of influences.
