Description
An icon of Italian design created in 1965 by Gae Aulenti for Martinelli Luce, the Pipistrello takes its name from the bat (“pipistrello” in Italian), whose spread wings inspired its diffuser. The Pipistrello POP Med Yellow lamp is the medium-sized version. Its glossy yellow finish (RAL 1021) gives it a bold pop look; a numbered and signed edition, with a plate on the back of the base.
Its opal white methacrylate diffuser provides soft, diffused light from a 6.8 W integrated LED (868 lm, 2700 K), adjustable with an in-line dimmer. Its telescopic stem adjusts the height from 50 to 62 cm, ideal on a console, desk or bedside table.
Designed by Gae Aulenti and produced by Martinelli Luce, the Pipistrello POP Med Yellow is a timeless piece combining heritage and innovation.

Questions / Answers
What is the Pipistrello Pop lamp?
The Pipistrello Pop is a graphic reinterpretation of the icon designed in 1965 by Gae Aulenti for Martinelli Luce. The cone of the base is glossy yellow (RAL 1021), while all the details are glossy black (RAL 9005). This “bold” finish highlights the lines of the lamp and gives it a strongly graphic look.
Why is the Pipistrello Pop lamp yellow?
For Martinelli Luce, the choice of a bright yellow continues the Pipistrello’s spirit of originality and innovation: beyond aesthetics, it becomes a symbol of vitality, energy and creative drive.
Is the Pipistrello Pop a limited edition?
The Pipistrello Pop is a numbered and signed edition. It keeps the opal white methacrylate diffuser, the aluminium structure and the iron base of the original Pipistrello.
