Designed by the Danish-Italian duo GamFratesi for the Japanese brand Koyori, the Kinomi side table takes its cue from a natural form as simple as it is endearing: the acorn, or "Donguri" in Japanese, the name under which it was first imagined. In its Large / Low version, wider and lower, with a 26.7 x 28.3 cm top and a height of 39 cm, this low side table is the perfect companion to a lounge chair, a low sofa or a daybed, and forms a lively pairing with the Small / High version from the same collection, whether in a living room, a bedroom or an intimate hotel lobby. Small in size but strong in character, the Kinomi provides a handy surface for a cup, a book or a treasured object, while reaching beyond its practical role: it pays tribute to the craftsman's hand and to the beauty of carefully shaped objects, bringing a calm presence that enriches an interior without dominating it. Its solid wood top, in natural oak or natural walnut, is protected by a urethane finish that highlights the grain, and rises on a slender black steel base. Key features: a poetic design born from GamFratesi's imagination, a low, compact format ideal beside a seat, a warm contrast of wood and steel, a durable, easy-care finish, and the high manufacturing standards that define Koyori, all brought together in a Kinomi side table of understated charm.
The GamFratesi studio was founded in 2006 by Danish architect Stine Gam and Italian architect Enrico Fratesi. GamFratesi is part of the latest generation of furniture designers, and together they represent a new interpretation of Danish and international design. GamFratesi's designs draw their creative impetus from the fusion of tradition and renewal, as well as from an experimental approach to materials and techniques. With their respective cultures, they draw their inspiration from Danish furniture and Scandinavian craft traditions, but also from Italy's timeless conceptual and intellectual approach. Thanks to this multi-cultural partnership, GamFratesi creates furniture pieces that reflect tradition while presenting unique stories, symbols and associations, often expressed in a minimalist style. The GamFratesi duo works with some of the biggest names in design, including Gubi, with the Bat collection and the now famous Beetle chair, Hay, with the Silhouette sofa, and also Minotti, Dedon and Fontana Arte.
