With In Between, designer Sami Kallio draws for And Tradition a chair whose central point is the interplay between positive and negative space. The backrest and sides provide a stable shape and good support, but shapes are also created by the empty spaces. The slightly sloping backrest and seat are balanced by the dynamically shaped legs, making In Between a designer seat that fits into any interior.The high stool, like the chair, is a manifesto of the designer's know-how and craftsmanship in woodworking. Producing the In Between stool requires modern industrial processes and manual intervention, creating a harmony between innovation and tradition. A beautiful product for design lovers.

Sami KALLIO
Sami Kallio, born in 1975 in Helsinki, Finland, grew up in Sweden, where he honed his skills in traditional wood crafts such as compression moulding and woodturning. He graduated from the Göteborg School of Design and Crafts in 2005.An award-winning designer with a studio based in Gothenburg, Sami Kallio designs furniture and interiors that translate classic forms into contemporary expressions with an industrial aesthetic that resonates with a modern-minded audience.Both man and machine play a part in many of Kallio's creations. The fusion of modern industrial manufacturing methods with traditional techniques. The result is a refreshing balance between past and present. Sami Kallio has taken part in a number of exhibitions, and the furniture collection 'The Finnish Blood In Me', which was presented at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2011, caused quite a stir.

And Tradition is a Danish brand founded in 2010 by Martin Kornbek Hansen. The brand offers furniture, lighting, and accessories from the 1930s to the present day. And Tradition designs practical pieces for everyday use. And Tradition adapts this heritage to contemporary design, redefining and reinventing materials and shapes, while respecting nature, which provides the essential raw materials. The company does not hesitate to reissue classics, such as the lighting designs of Verner Panton, including the collection of Flowerpot Table Lamps and Flowerpot Pendants.
