Designed to make the most of time outdoors, Calma is a lightweight, relaxed outdoor armchair. An ingenious mix between a hammock and an upholstered armchair, Calma is characterised by its comfort. The seat consists of a long, suspended band that adapts naturally to each individual to create a truly relaxed position. The length of the seat allows you to rest your head on a headrest that can be folded back to suit your preferred position.
Published by Stua, the Calma armchair is made in Spain using European materials. Thanks to its design, materials and comfort, the Calma Stua armchair can be used both indoors and outdoors. A footrest can be added for even greater comfort.
The covers are machine washable, taking care to protect the Velcro so as not to damage the fabric.
Born in San Sebastián in 1967, Jon Gasca graduated in industrial engineering from the University of Navarre. He then joined Stua, the company founded by his father, Jesus, in 1984. Together, they have maintained an unpretentious and accessible aesthetic, evoking the spirit of classic mid-century modernism. "We try to give people a sense of well-being, not opulence," says Gasca. "We convey freshness and a sense of belonging." Stua, under their guidance, Jon Gasca won numerous awards, including Spain's National Design Prize in 2009. Among Gascas's enduring creations are the Costura sofa collection, Eclipse tables, and the Nube armchair, the latter of which he co-designed with his father. Like all Stua products, these pieces intentionally blur the lines between residential and commercial furniture. "Home and office are two different worlds," Gasca points out, "but we try to take an in-between approach." More simply, when asked whether Stua makes furniture for offices or homes, he responds, "We just make furniture."

STUA
In 1982, Jesus Garcia founded Stua, a Spanish manufacturer of contemporary furniture. Stua offers airy, Mediterranean design; a tradition that is reflected in modern style. The collection is designed to suit both residential and office environments, which can be seen in the Gas office chair. The main feature of each Stua product is its durability, whether chairs, tables, stools (such as the Onda high stool), or storage. Stua favours the simplicity and timelessness of products, while also leaning on its principles concerning quality and attention to the smallest aesthetic detail.
