The Cabin Vipp armchair will work wonders in a living room or relaxation area. Cabin features a solid oak frame softened by a padded aniline leather cushion and a hand-woven paper rope backrest. With the Cabin armchair, Vipp revisits lounge seating: elements such as the wooden frame and hand-woven paper rope back are drawn from the heritage of Danish design. Showcasing the expertise derived from iconic Danish design pieces, the Cabin armchairVipp offers a modern reinterpretation imbued with classicism of traditional designs.
The story of Vipp began in 1939, in the small Danish town of Randers, when Marie asked her husband Holger Nielsen to create a trash bin for her new hair salon. Holger, a skilled craftsman with a keen sense of aesthetics, wanted to impress his wife and thus put all his talent into creating a pedal bin that was both functional and elegant. The bin, which he named Vipp, was never intended to be sold. However, some of Marie's clients were so impressed by its functionality that they ordered it for their husbands' medical offices and dental clinics.
