Designed by Robin Day, RFH is a collection conceived in 1951 to furnish the Royal Festival Hall in London. And Tradition has worked closely with the Robin and Lucienne Day Foundation to reissue iconic models for the first time in decades.
Originally created for the venue's restaurant, the petit fauteuil RFH RD7 features a slightly curved backrest and armrests that fold outwards. This seat was radically different from what was available on the market at the time. The armchair has a beech veneer and a walnut veneer front, giving it a contemporary two-tone effect. Rich in materiality, its astonishing shape is obtained by a pressure moulding process. Three flat-head brass screws secure the black tubular legs to the chair, adding an elegant design element to the front of the backrest. The small RFH RD7 armchair has an upholstered seat, covered in high-quality fabric.
