Warren Platner

Warren Platner (1919–2006) was an American architect and designer, renowned for his innovative and elegant approach to furniture design. Trained at Cornell University and having worked alongside iconic figures such as Eero Saarinen, Platner mastered the art of merging architectural principles with design, creating pieces that are both sculptural and functional. His work is characterized by the use of organic shapes and industrial materials, resulting in creations where the structure itself becomes an integral part of the design.

The Platner Collection, launched in 1966, is one of his most celebrated achievements. It is defined by a bold use of metal and soft, curved lines reminiscent of natural forms. The Platner armchair and Platner table, crafted from welded metal rods, are icons of 1960s design, combining comfort with originality.
