Born in Turin and based in Milan, Paola Navone is an architect, designer, artistic director, and interior design expert, renowned for her eclectic approach and original creations. A graduate of the Polytechnic University of Turin in 1973, she quickly distinguished herself in the world of design. In 1979, she joined the Alchimia group, an avant-garde collective led by Ettore Sottsass and Andrea Branzi, where she forged her creative identity.
Her career took on an international dimension when she worked as a consultant for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) from 1985 to 1988, leading projects in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. Paola Navone’s creative vision harmoniously blends traditional Eastern influences with a keen sense of Western aesthetics, driven by her taste for eclecticism. She draws inspiration from the richness of colors and materials, integrating them into creations where craftsmanship and innovation meet. In 1983, her talent was recognized with the prestigious Osaka International Design Award, a prize that marked the beginning of her international rise.
Today, Paola Navone serves as artistic director for brands such as Abet Laminati and Gervasoni, while collaborating with renowned editors like Driade and Molteni. She has also designed the Ivy collection for the outdoor furniture brand Emu, as well as the Brass pendant light for Gervasoni—pieces that reflect her unique style, blending modernity and tradition. Her career testifies to her commitment to pushing the boundaries of design while celebrating cultural diversity and the beauty of craftsmanship.
