Sylvain Willenz's Rebar collection is a series of design coffee tables and side tables that explores the possibilities of recontextualising construction materials. The design juxtaposes a structure of reinforced steel bars with marble or steel tops to create a balanced aesthetic. Published by Hay, Rebar tables are available in several different sizes, round or rectangular shapes and are suitable for both private and public spaces.

Sylvain WILLENZ

Born in Brussels in 1978, Sylvain Willenz has lived consecutively in the United States, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Sylvain Willenz studied MA Design Products at the Royal College of Art in London, graduating in 2003. In 2004, he opened his own design studio, based in Brussels, Belgium. Considered one of Belgium's most influential designers, Sylvain was named Belgian Designer of the Year in 2009.Known for his strong yet simple graphic aesthetic, Sylvain Willenz is fascinated by production, manufacturing and pays great attention to detail. Originally intending to be a draughtsman, he turned to product design. Over the years, Sylvain Willenz has developed a singular style of clear line.
