Nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration. Marc Merckx's Hexagon tables, published by Tribu are proof of this. The designer was inspired by the Giant's Causeway, a gigantic geological formation in Northern Ireland. The teak structure of the table reproduces the geometry of hexagonal basalt columns. Hexagon incorporates a delicate, masterful balance in its proportions, as in the perfect symmetry of the honeycomb, its designer's second source of inspiration. The top of the Hexagon coffee table is made from enamelled lava stone, whose natural imperfections are highlighted by the crackled effect. The enamel coating makes the natural stone resistant to water, heat, frost, UV rays and stains. Hexagon pleases alone or accompanied, in "training".
