Description
The Swivel Padded Chair 453 by Vipp expands the Swivel series by merging the generously padded seat of the Vipp453+ with the four-legged base of the Vipp452. Designed for both residential and professional settings, this chair strikes the perfect balance between long-lasting comfort, refined lines, and functional design. Its enlarged backrest and extra-padded seat provide optimal ergonomic support, making it ideal for extended hours in meeting rooms or home offices. The fixed four-legged aluminum base offers strong stability while maintaining a light and elegant silhouette. Available in high-end textiles or aniline leather carefully selected by Vipp, the Swivel Padded Chair reflects a commitment to durable and refined design. The noble materials – chrome-free full-grain leather and premium fabrics made of linen and wool – offer not only visual sophistication but also thermal and tactile comfort. “After the launch of the Swivel chair in 2021, I wished for a version that feels like sitting on a cloud,” says Kasper Egelund, CEO and third-generation owner of Vipp. With its timeless design, quality finishes, and clean yet welcoming lines, the Swivel Padded Chair stands out as an elegant solution for those seeking a meeting chair or fixed office seat that blends aesthetics and well-being. Custom upholstery options are available upon request to ensure a perfect fit within any living or work environment.

Studio VIPP
The story of Vipp began in 1939, in the small Danish town of Randers, when Marie asked her husband, Holger Nielsen, to create a bin for her new hair salon. Holger, a skilled craftsman with a keen eye for aesthetics, wanted to impress his wife and poured all his talent into creating a pedal bin that was both functional and elegant. The bin, which he named Vipp, was never intended to be sold, but some of Marie’s clients were so impressed by its functionality that they ordered one for their husbands’ medical practices and dental clinics. For many years, the bin was sold exclusively to professionals, until Holger and Marie’s daughter, Jette Egelund, took over the business in the early 1990s and turned the Vipp bin into an international design icon. In recent years, Vipp has exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris and collaborated with several international designers, such as Sir Terence Conran, Christian Lacroix, and Philippe Starck, to create artworks that were auctioned off for charitable causes. Celebrated from the beginning for its functional and aesthetic qualities, the Vipp pedal bin is now considered one of the major pieces of Scandinavian design. Today, Vipp is a well-known brand recognized for its bins and bathroom accessories, but it also produces furniture for the entire home. The brand continues to design home furnishings with the same spirit that made the pedal bin famous: the combination of functionality and aesthetics. Vipp furniture is created according to the principles of Scandinavian design, using high-quality, natural materials.
