The SEN 95.6 collection by NOMA embodies a demanding vision of eco-responsible design, blending minimalist aesthetics with a strong environmental commitment. Conceived by the Franco-Japanese studio A+A Cooren, this chair series draws inspiration from nature and the art of line: a slender frame in recycled steel evokes a stretched branch, while the seat—crafted from recycled plastic or wood—resembles a delicately placed leaf. Each chair in the collection is made in France and Belgium using carefully sourced materials. The flagship model, made from 95.6% recycled materials, combines a thermoformed plastic shell derived from post-consumer waste with a recycled steel wire base. Lightweight, stackable, and comfortable, it meets the needs of shared spaces such as restaurants, hotels, museums, and offices. Beyond its low environmental impact, SEN 95.6 stands out for its clean and functional lines, designed to last. Each piece features subtle variations in tone due to the use of recycled materials, making every chair truly unique. With SEN, NOMA reaffirms its commitment to circular, desirable design—where every detail matters, for the eye as much as for the planet.
A+A Cooren is a Franco-Japanese design studio based in Paris, formed by the couple Aki and Arnaud Cooren. The studio mainly designs lighting fixtures, but in recent years they have also branched out into the world of products, furniture and interior design. Characterised by a sober, poetic design whose roots lie in a subtle blend of Japanese and Nordic inspiration, in each of its projects the studio seeks to reintegrate nature into everyday objects and interior architecture. A+A Cooren designs objects that are both industrial and artisanal, with a constant focus on simplicity of implementation for the manufacturer and simplicity of use for the end user. For A+A Cooren, the creation of a good product is the result of good teamwork between the manufacturer/craftsman and the designers, underpinned by high standards of workmanship. Their creations are published by Artemide, Metalarte, and recently for the new publisher Coedition.
