Meridiana is a remarkable pre-owned armchair designed by Christophe Pillet for Driade. Its enveloping shell gently follows the contours of the body, offering superior comfort and ergonomic support. The seat appears suspended within a slender chrome steel structure, giving the piece a sense of lightness and elegance. The design of the shell is strikingly sophisticated, with intersecting lines that create a subtle play of reflections and brilliance, like a delicate mesh captured in the material, or a diamond with a thousand facets. The Meridiana armchair is also available in a version featuring fluorescent blue reflections.

Studying decorative arts in Nice, Christophe Pillet discovered his vocation as a designer after reading an article about Memphis. He went to Milan for three years to do his master's at the Domus Academy and saw his Baby lamp published in the last Memphis collection in 1988. After 5 years with Philippe Starck, he opened his own agency in Paris in 1993. Clarity of expression, a quest for simplicity and economy of line characterise the elegance of his work as a designer (furniture, packaging, tableware, etc.) and also as a set designer and interior architect (Sezz hotels, Ménudier, Malandrino, Lacoste, Silvera, RBC showrooms, etc.). His Round garden seats and tables for Emu explore the potential of drawn sheet metal and nickel mesh on a tubular frame.
