Created for the 1939 Swiss National Exhibition, the Landi Chair occupies an important place in the history of 20th-century design. Considered a design classic, this chair, created by Hans Coray, introduced furniture design to a new type of three-dimensionally moulded seat shell, fixed on a separate base. The 91 perforated holes in the shell not only ensure lightness and flexibility, but also give the Landi chair a strong and unique identity. Lightweight and stackable, the Landi chair is sturdy and weather resistant. Today, reissued by Vitra, this design icon has lost none of its freshness and vitality over the years.
Founded in 1950 by Willi and Erika Fehlbaum, Vitra is an iconic brand of Swiss designer furniture, renowned for its iconic chairs, exceptional armchairs, and contemporary tables. Located near Basel, Switzerland, the company has established itself as a key player in international design through collaborations with renowned designers such as Charles & Ray Eames, Verner Panton, Antonio Citterio, Alexander Girard, and the Bouroullec brothers.
