Designed by Ichiro Iwasaki and published by Vibia, the Flat collection consists of luminaires with original disc-shaped diffusers. The horizontal metal blades of Flat reflect light off their surface, to create layers of indirect lighting and blend in with the surrounding architecture. Delicate in design yet graphic in character, Flat conveys the signature aesthetic of Ichiro Iwasaki, renowned for his sober, abstract style. Its minimalist shape is optimal because each tapered disc contains and directs the light, appearing to be lit from within.  The table lamp version of Flat rests on an angular base that contrasts sharply with the roundness of its shade, although the two parts complement each other in a perfectly mastered balance. The Flat luminaire collection embellishes floors, tables and ceilings with its individual or multiple discs. Thanks to its mastery of geometry, the clean lines of Flat blend in perfect harmony to give the space a soothing, Zen sensibility.
