Boalum is a luminaire created in 1970 by
Livio Castigliono and Gianfranco Frattini for the
Artemide brand. The designers created Boalum as "an endless snake of light". This original, sculptural luminaire went on to become part of Italian and world design history.
Its translucent flexible PVC structure, reinforced with resin bollards, makes it virtually indestructible. Thanks to its flexibility, which allows it to create unique shapes,
Boalum can be placed on the floor, on a table, suspended, or twisted to invent a new play of light every day. Its various elements can be connected in series, in up to four parts, and can be rolled up as required.
