After researching various configurations linking a sphere and a rectangle, this lesson in geometry led designer Signe Hytte to a beautifully balanced lamp: The Journey SHY1 table lampfrom And Tradition. Cradled in the curve of its straight rectangular base, the sphere, when illuminated, evokes the sensation of a full moon. And with its dimmer switch, it's a lamp that allows you to adjust the ambience to suit your mood. The Journey lamp functions as a table lamp and a wall lamp. The opal glass shade gives off a soft, ambient light, controlled by the dimmer on the base. The fusion of the circle and the rectangular is a true homage to Euclid, considered to be the Father of geometry.
