Designed by
Arne Jacobsen, the
Grand Prix chair was presented by
Fritz Hansen at the Designers' Spring Exhibition at the Copenhagen Museum of Art and Design in 1957. Later that year, this
chair was awarded the Grand Prix at the Milan Triennale. After being produced with a tubular steel base like the Serie 7, the
Grand Prix chair is now once again available with a
wood base, as it was originally presented. This timeless piece works in any style of interior and the different finishes available marry well together to create harmonious configurations around the table.
