Designed for outdoor use, the Vipp713 Open Air armchair is inspired by the Vipp456 armchair. Composed of a similarly shaped aluminium frame, the backrest and seat consist of two separate, removable and washable cushions. The armrests are covered with teak details. Inspired by its indoor counterpart, the Open Air outdoor armchair comes with two removable and washable cushions that make up the backrest and seat. The upholstery of the Vipp Open Air armchair is made from 100% Ten Stars yarn, woven in the Lombardy region of Italy. A vibrant two-tone effect characterises the textured surface and lends the collection a tactile sophistication.
The story of Vipp began in 1939, in the small Danish town of Randers, when Marie asked her husband Holger Nielsen to create a trash bin for her new hair salon. Holger, a skilled craftsman with a keen sense of aesthetics, wanted to impress his wife and thus put all his talent into creating a pedal bin that was both functional and elegant. The bin, which he named Vipp, was never intended to be sold. However, some of Marie's clients were so impressed by its functionality that they ordered it for their husbands' medical offices and dental clinics.
