Description

Designed by Afra & Tobia Scarpa in 1969 for Cassina, the Armchair Carlotta is one of those pieces that cross the decades without losing an ounce of their vitality, carrying with them this minimalist freshness which resists as well to the modes as to the seasons. In his cobalt combination, Orosei and Cielo, he plays a chromatic score of rare sophistication: the cobalt blue structure slices sharply, while the Orosei and Cielo tones of the coating bring this airy shade that lightens the whole and instantly evokes the light of the Mediterranean exteriors. Its construction, articulated around four frames and a complex system of junctions and assemblies, testifies to the artisanal excellence that Cassina perpetuates since its origins, while the hand-braided support ropes give the seat a visual lightness and informal comfort that naturally invite you to settle down without ceremony. As elegant alone on a terrace bathed in light as in composition with the other pieces of the Carlotta collection, it fits with the same evidence in a neat residential garden, an outdoor space hotel or a patio of character. The Carlotta armchair is not only bought for its comfort: it is chosen for what it says about an interior, even in open air.
