Designed by Superstudio between 1969 and 1972 and produced by Zanotta from 1972, the Quaderna collection is recognised as a manifesto of radical design.
In 1969, the Superstudio group worked on the "Istogrammi": objects constructed on the basis of a spatial mesh with an orthogonal pattern, adaptable to different scales. The theory of the Istogrammi led to the theory of an infinite world of objects to be invented, ranging from the purely flat surface to furniture and architecture.
The products in the Quaderna collection are the result of a highly industrialised process and at the same time great craftsmanship. The tile laminate has been specially created based on Superstudio's design and features a 3 cm grid, produced using digital printing. This laminate is then applied by hand, requiring great precision and several hours of work for each piece. The convergence of the lines in the pattern creates a homogeneous surface, giving the furniture a strong personality.
The Quaderna console will look great in a living room, bedroom or hallway, adding a highly graphic touch.
