Description

The Plastic Armchairs designed by Charles and Ray Eames in the 1950s were presented for the first time as part of the 'Low Cost Furniture Design' competition organised by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Eames Plastic DAW (Dining Armchair Wooden base) has an organically designed shell that was originally made of fibreglass. Re-issued by Vitra with a polypropylene shell, it continues to offer great comfort at an affordable price. The base consists of four legs in stained and lacquered maple with tubular steel crosspieces. It's a small chair that's ideal for long meals.
