Description
Inspired by the holiday spirit of the 1950s, Sail Out is a modular outdoor sofa designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for Cassina. Sail Out recalls the plush shape of canvas air mattresses thanks to its individually padded removable strips inserted into pockets sewn into the fabric. Sail Out is remarkable for its decorative details, such as the grosgrain border, and it's extremely comfortable thanks to the use of SoloSoff® memory foam, a polyester fibre-based product. Versatile and functional, the Sail Out sofa is made up of different modules and backrest and armrest elements that allow you to create an infinite number of combinations.
The version of the Sail Out sofa shown here has two high elements for the backrest, a low element for the left armrest and a teak shelf on the right.

Rodolfo DORDONI
Rodolfo Dordoni is a major figure in Italian design. After graduating in architecture from the Milan Polytechnic in 1979, he set up Dordoni Architects Studio and went on to work with major furniture brands such as Foscarini, Cappellini and Artemide, where he was artistic director, as well as Flos, Moroso, Cassina and, more recently, Coédition. He has also worked closely with Minotti since 1997. Its timeless, modern designs combine aesthetics and comfort. The lines are sober, minimalist and extremely distinctive. The roots of the collaboration between Minotti and Rodolfo Dordoni are long-standing and solid, because the same values are shared by the company and the designer. The designer's inspirations and thoughts come to life, and particular attention is paid to the details, finishes and materials that reveal the unique character of Minotti collections.

CASSINA
Founded by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda near Milan in 1927, the Cassina brand is famous for editing the iconic Le Corbusier armchairs, among other exceptional pieces of furniture. Cassina also produces chairs, tables, armchairs, sofas, beds, wardrobes, and designer bookshelves. Cassina produces furniture of exceptional quality, inspired by industrial design in Italy.
