Description
Designed by Inga Sempé for Hay, the applique Matin offers a design that is both contemporary and poetic, with a construction that combines visual finesse and physical robustness. The lamp head can be tilted upwards or downwards at an angle of around 45 degrees, creating ambient or direct light. The Morning wall light features a steel wire frame finished in polished brass and a pleated cotton shade available in two diameters and a variety of bright colours. The light source is an integrated LED, providing diffused light. Matin is also fitted with a digital dimmer, allowing the brightness to be adjusted as required.

Inga SEMPE
Born in Paris, Inga Sempé graduated from Ensci (Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle) in 1993. In 2000, she became a resident at the Villa Medicis (Académie de France) in Rome. Inga Sempé started out as a freelance designer, working in the early years with Italian brands such as Cappellini and Edra, before moving on to projects with French, American and Scandinavian companies such as Luce Plan, Moustache (with its famous Vapeur luminaires) and Baccarat. She designs furniture and small everyday objects, and seems to have a particular interest in lighting, with the PO 0202 floor lamp in particular. An exhibition devoted to him was held at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2003.

Hay, the iconic brand of Danish design, founded in 2002, is now a key reference in contemporary Scandinavian furniture. By collaborating with renowned designers such as Hee Welling and the brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Hay Design offers iconic creations such as the About a Chair collection and the outdoor range Palissade, which perfectly embody the spirit of Scandinavian design furniture.
